Relying on John Gardner’s book, Building Classic Small Craft, Bill Aylward built this Herreshoff rowboat he calls RED. He spent much of 2012 building the boat, launching her in 2013. Bill made the planking from okoume plywood and everything else from Douglas-fir.
This Jeff Spira designed Huntington Harbor Kayak was launched at Westlakes, Adelaide, South Australia. It was built by Jeff Rabone in May 2012. The design was modified by double skinning the cockpit floor and adding a keel and some sacrificial timber to the bottom.
She’s a light cedar strip solo canoe that will appeal to the paddling enthusiast that finds himself/herself without a partner for day trips, birdwatching, or the occasional overnighter.The canoe is light, stiff, easily driven and a joy to paddle.
After reading Geoff Kerr’s article about the W17 folding/trailerable trimaran in WoodenBoat Magazine #254 I was immediately interested and went to see and sail one.
Pulling boat Liz, designed by Ken Bassett, will be launched on Saturday 8th of June. It is built in 5 mm marine plywood.
Rowland Hill completed this 15' x 4' York Delaware Ducker in November 2000. He got the plans from Mystic Seaport Museum. Planking is epoxied Sapeli marine plywood. Rowland used oak for the stem, rudder, dagger board, and cowling. He and his son sail the boat in Pleasant Bay, Cape Cod.
